30th August - Proud

Today challenge is about Proud - What has made you proud lately? It could be anything from having made the prefect cake to other bigger life achievements that you are proud of.

it's always good to tell a friend that you are proud of her. I love working on my creative journal lately, and this layout is surely one of my favorite. I especially love the quote: it was the perfect add to the page.

I have so many things to be proud of, but most recently, I'm proud of my daughter for graduating kindergarten with flying colors.  She is such a good reader and always eager to tackle any challenge set before her.  Secretly, I think she's just trying to outdo her older brother, but a little competition never hurt anyone.  Right?!  I couldn't resist a pink and yellow palette supported by goodies from new Crate Paper and Pinkfresh collections found in my recent Hip Kit Club goodies.

Recently,I have nothing to be proud of.I am working in a bakery franchise in korea.
I would like to boast working made cakes. It was decorated with whipped cream and
puree,syrups and so on.
Layered cut is a Graphic 45 papers. Background is silks and stencil, silver paste.

Guest Designer - Paola

This photo was taken by my husband which I am very proud, but there are also other things that I'm currently proud of, so I think this is the perfect way to say that I am very proud of where I am.

What are you proud of? We would love to know please link up your layouts to the side bar. you have until our next challenge, 13th September to enter.

16th August - Mood Board

Todays Challenge is a lovely Mood board that was created by Tessa.
Here's how it inspired the design team...

HeeSun Kim

This was such a fun mood board to work with.  I really jumped on the gold and pretty ombre elements to create my layout.

Guest Designer - Paola
I think the mood board is beautiful and it makes me think of Coachella.  For this layout I decide to play with some mixed-media , I use irridicent paper, a cut file from Justnick and some wood veneers to name a few.

Please link up your layouts to the side bar, we would love to see how this mood board has inspired you.

2nd August - Sketch

It's sketch time here again at The Studio! This time I (Anna) took inspiration from the layout Vasso made for our previous food challenge.
Hope you have fun with this one!

I rotated Anna's sketch 90 degrees to the right and had loads of fun with my July Hip Kit Club goodies this week.

I don't play with layers too often, but I love that this sketch had a lot of them.  I had so much fun digging through my stash and picking the perfect pieces to layer under my photo!

Guest Designer - Paola
This sketch is full of possibilities, I decided to follow the structure almost one hundred percent. I think the pop of color adds fun and brightness  without making it overwhelming. I use products from different brands, Studio Calico, Amy Tangerine, WRMK to mention some .  I am very happy with the result.

The design have done a great job with the sketch, hope they have inspired you to play along with us!

19th July - Make Your Own Embellishment

Today challenge is to...
Make your own Embellishment - it can be anything you like, from your own journaling card to a hand made flower etc but you have to make it yourself! Please tell us how you made yours in your blog post, we would love to know how you did it!

Here are what the design team created

HeeSun Kim
Recently I am engrossed in work to create a plaster fragrances. Mixing the plaster and oil, Put the molds will harden. Anyone can easily create, fragrant, pretty. I love it!
Ribbon and angel is plaster fragrances.

I die-cut and stamped lots and lots of flowers throughout my page, but since I do that kind of thing quite a bit, I decided that I needed to challenge myself further and change things up a bit.  So, I used this How to Make an Origami Flower and a Leaf tutorial, fromOrigami Spirit, to create a couple of big, bold blooms.

The handmade portion of my layout is really easy to spot - I cut my alphas out of some extra felt I had laying around.  I thought the child-like title was perfect for a page about a child's play!
I hope that has inspired you to created your own embellishments, I think it's a lovely thing to do as you will have something truely unique on your layout!

5th July - Stars and Stripes

Stars and Stripes - Inspired by our America friends' Independence Day, use stars and stripes on your layouts.

Here are the design teams takes on it...

I had so much fun creating this layout: I used a striped black&white paper by Dear Lizzy and I diecut some stars with my Big Shot. I love the result!

What better way to celebrate the 4th than a page of my kiddos all decked out in their red, white, and blues?!  This one is really a conglomeration of lots of different manufacturers' fabulosities that I've collected over the years.  So glad to finally give so many oldies but goodies a home!

I decided not to do a patriotic layout to highlight the stars and stripes and went with a fun Summer palette instead.

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday, so I knew I would go patriotic with this challenge. However, I ended up scrapbooking a photo from Memorial Day instead. I used the Atlas collection by Pink Paislee. Even though it is a travel-themed collection, there were plenty of stars and stripes to work with!

This is a message for my country...Sun is here..sun is always here..

Namsan in korea, the lovers fills the lock as a token of love~!
Namsan is a famous mountain in Seoul.Climb aboard the cable car you can see the
view of Seoul at a glance. The famous night view~!!!

Hee Sun Kim

like a shining star in the night sky. You are my idol!

For the stars and stripes challenge, I went way back and looked at my boxed photos before the age of digital!  We don't always do fireworks celebrations and so this old photo of my daughter watching the fireworks was just something I wanted to capture on a layout .  The look on her face was priceless and she had such a wonderful time!   I also wanted to show folks that you can still scrap the "imperfect" pics without fixing them up.  I kept it simple with some wood veeners and hand cut some stars from a distressed patriotic paper sheet that I've had for years!

Hope they have inspired you to get creative with stars and stripes! Please link up your finished layouts to the side bar.
